The Opera and Ballet Online Service

The Finnish National Opera and Ballet's new online service launched in January 2016. We designed the service as a visual experience that charms and captivates. By 2023, it was time to renew the appearance and structure of the site.

Through enriched production pages, visitors can immerse themselves in the world of performances in advance. Stage24 is a brand-new service that aggregates, among other things, performance recordings, live broadcasts, trailers, and introductions to works, all in one place, and streams the most interesting works to Finnish living rooms completely free of charge. The Stage24 section also includes articles that provide background on the productions and their themes and introduce the artistic teams.

However, the site's impressiveness does not hinder clear usability. Service paths guide the user towards sales naturally, and special attention has been paid to accessibility.

After the revamp, the online service usage and the number of newsletter subscribers have been steadily increasing.

The Finnish National Opera's online service of 2016 was implemented in collaboration with Byroo. The site published in 2023 was created in cooperation with Hion.

The site was awarded the Best Online Service of the Year at the Grand One 2016 competition.
